Theres not much to tell from how you're describinh the situation right now , can you explain in greater detail how the action went , what the stacks/blinds are and what the pays are looking like? Big Smile

you dont have much information about that guy, how agressive is, if you had stats on him, how much deep you 2 were what were payouts...

If I understand you correctly, you're wondering if it's a good decision to call with AJ preflop late in an MTT? If that is the case, I would call any time. Late in an MTT blinds are normally quite high and AJ is a good enough hand to call with to get a good shot on the win.

in this message it is not clear very much ... Of course an ace and a king is a very strong card but maybe an opponent also has a good card? .... therefore the message is not very clear .... how do I think the message is written on emotions and how it seems to me continuation and explanation of this will not .... Confused

It is a marginal call for me unless the guy has been playing recklessly all night. If i was chip leader, i would have probably waited for a better spot but it sometimes comes down to instinct

Three handed you should be "good" a lot of the time, unless the stacks are realy deep and opponents could wait for monster hands. But even then AJ will not be ahead by that much, and you will lose a fair amount of hands against any two.

Looks like third opp fold, so you were facing heads up, of course his position is important , he shove you call and third opp fold or....? But in that situation, instinct more important factor to make decision. 3 player left, unpredictable. Come on irish, normally you very confidence and succeed built big stack.

I not good tournament player so not have very good opinion, but o think it is strong hand to have AJ, and to me it is important how big chips i have and what paid places are, also how big chips my opponent have, because it is not AA or KK or QQ or AK, so not always call

AJ shove preflop? I have no idea. It really depends on the situation.

I generally dislike calling preflop all-in with AJ, AT, A9, A8, A7, A6, regardless of whether they are suited or not. These are shovable hands preflop, of course, but I would prefer to see the board and play accordingly without risking my entire stack hastily, especially when I feel that I have an edge against my opponent(s) at the table.
