Like him or hate him, Floyd Mayweather is without doubt a rich fella and notorious for spending lot of money on cars and sports betting. On a recent press conference for the Adrien Broner versus Ashley Theophane fight, Mayweather revealed his interest in becoming an NBA team owner.
The retired boxer understands that owning an NBA team means he has to give up on sports gambling. His keen desire in this endeavor make it sound like he is ready to really give up on betting. "You guys know I like to bet on sports," he said, "but I'm looking forward to stepping back from betting on sports now. I'm looking forward to probably getting into ownership of an NBA team."
While Floyd isn't as rich as some of the NBA team owners out there, he does have some money enough to buy him a small team, or perhaps a part of an NBA team.
This is not the first time the undefeated boxer showed his interest in owning an NBA team. Back in 2014, he briefly tried to convince some of his rich friends to help him buy the LA Clippers. He is also caught mentioning that he really did not have any particular team in mind.
